Mui Lay (Cape Lay)

Knowing that Patti and I like lighthouses almost as much as seashells,  Thuy persisted in weaving through one-car dirt lanes and asking directions until we actually got to the lighthouse.

I found much more than the lighthouse here.  I'd said that I wanted to stand at a place that I knew we took counter battery,   look out from the perspective of the defenders,  and see what was in that place and in my heart.  What I found was simple affection and empathy for a cheerful,  resilient,  and proudly independent people.
